Study of Technology In MD

A new study by the American Electronics Association ranks Maryland fifth in the nation in the percentage of the private sector workforce working in high-tech positions. Roughly 7.8% of the MD private sector workforce works in tech jobs, compared to 9% in Colorado, the top state in the nation.

Publications From MD Attorney General Site

The Maryland Attorney General site provides access to a number of useful publications. This site provides a number of booklets including "Landlords and Tenants: Tips on Avoiding Disputes," "Buying A New Home: Consumer Rights and Remedies," and "Protecting Your Privacy." The site also provides access to a number of Consumer Tips pages on such topics as "Credit Card Fraud" and "HMOs: Selecting The Best For You."

New MD Code Display

I just noticed the other day that the Division of State Documents has now provided a new table of contents version of the MD Code. This makes browsing the Code much easier and is a big improvement from the free Lexis version. Granted, West has provided a free table of contents version for some time now, but I still find this one easier to use.

Maryland Office of The People's Counsel

If you're involved in a legal dispute with BG&E, you may want to consider giving these folks a call. The Maryland Office of the People's Counsel is an "an independent state agency that represents Maryland's residential consumers of electricity, natural gas, telephone and private water services, under authority granted by the Maryland Code, Maryland Public Utilities Article, Annotated, Section 2-202." This site includes pages on Contracting for Electricity andNatural Gas Supply, County Resource Guides, and summaries of cases the Agency is currently working on.
