Maryland Empowerment Zones

The Empowerment Zone initiative provides "tax incentives, performance grants and loans" to stimulate development in designated low-income areas. As far back as 1994, President Clinton designated 3 designated areas in Baltimore as federal Empowerment Zones. This page provides maps of where the designated areas are and, if you want to check whether a certain address is included, another page allows you to do that. Simply type in your address and it will tell you whether your area is included in the Zone or not.
